Accepted Payments Policy

 

 
CargoKey’s payments policy is an integral part of creating the secure shipping environment that it promotes.
 
CargoKey does not insist on payment methods; however it may choose to do so in the future. CargoKey does however strongly encourage Freight Forwarders to only accept certain forms of payment. These methods are not only convenient to use, but they also offer clients and Freight Forwarders protection against fraud and theft of financial data.
 
Freight Forwarders with their own merchant credit card processing account, and those that use a third party credit card processor, may offer clients the option of paying online or by phone. CargoKey will continuously evaluate new payment services and methods, and assess whether they are appropriate for our shipping marketplace.
 
Offline payments do not offer the same level of convenience or security as online payments. Freight Forwarders may however offer acceptance of most valid financial instruments including personal checks, bank guaranteed cheques, money orders or Escrow Services.
 
CargoKey does not recommend cash payments or transfers.
Why does CargoKey have this policy?

Safety and convenience are at the core of CargoKey’s policies toward payments. This policy is designed to promote safe online shopping, and to encourage online payment methods that are safe, easy to use, reliable, and offer high levels of protection for users. The policy also attempts to preserve some flexibility for users that still prefer offline payment methods.
